Parker Square's Dinner Hour Got a Rewrite This Fall

On a weekday morning, Parker Square looks the way it has for years. Coffee is pouring at Cerulean Blue Coffee House, the cases are full at Hive Bakery, and Morning Edition Cafe is serving breakfast a few doors away. After 5 p.m., two of the square's most familiar corners are different places from what they were a year ago. Almost all of Parker Square's 2026 news has been about evenings, and it has happened at addresses longtime Flower Mound diners already know.

Two addresses carry most of the story

The square's directory lists 68 tenants. Still, most of this year's dining news comes from two numbers on Parker Square Road, 890 and 930.

At 890, Vieux Carré, the French restaurant on the corner, closed toward the end of 2025. The Elephant Lounge took over the space, and local chef Michael Lawson officially opened it on Tuesday, September 29, at 5 p.m., according to the Cross Timbers Gazette. The Gazette describes it as a French and Italian restaurant and says Lawson came up with the concept while he was at the Culinary Institute of America.

So the corner still serves French food, now with Italian alongside it. When the lights first came back on in August, The Flower Mound Bee described the new concept as "a wine-lounge feel with a broader food menu," meant to be a neighborhood gathering place.

At 930, the change is quieter. In its October roundup, the Cross Timbers Gazette's Biz Buzz reported that Gabriela & Sofia's Tex-Mex has been renamed Arroyo's Tex-Mex under the same ownership. That matters if you have seen the Arroyo's name around town and assumed a new operator was moving in. Same address, same owners, new name.

How the year unfolded

The changes came one at a time, and the order explains why the square feels different at dinner than it did last spring.

  1. Late 2025. Vieux Carré closes at 890 Parker Square Road.
  2. March 2026. The Gazette reports that The Elephant Lounge will take the space, with minor renovations underway. A farmers market comes back to the gazebo and greenspace the same month.
  3. July 2026. Boba Bar opens in Parker Square.
  4. August 2026. The Elephant Lounge has the keys and the lights on at 890.
  5. September 16, 2026. The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission issues a license to Arroyo's Tex-Mex, LLC at 930 Parker Square Road.
  6. September 29, 2026. The Elephant Lounge officially opens at 5 p.m.
  7. October 2026. The Gazette reports the Gabriela & Sofia's rename to Arroyo's Tex-Mex.

Of those seven entries, only Boba Bar and the market are daytime additions. The rest are about what happens once the sun goes down.

Why the evening corner matters to the whole square

In its August piece, the Bee made the case that "Parker Square works best when the courtyard has energy," because restaurants, boutiques, salons and fitness studios all ring the historic gazebo. In the Bee's words, a dinner-hour anchor in that corner "pulls foot traffic through the whole stretch." Its October story on Arroyo's said the same about the Tex-Mex side. Parker Square draws sit-down diners, and a Tex-Mex restaurant with a liquor license gives them one more reason to stay in the center.

That fits a square where the evening options are already close together. Grutogi Bistro is at Suite 310 and Enzo's NY Pizzeria at Suite 990. Put a renewed French and Italian room at 890 and a renamed Tex-Mex spot at 930, and dinner at Parker Square has more range than it did a year ago, all within the same walk around the gazebo.

What is still pending at 930

Arroyo's has its state paperwork done. The Flower Mound Bee reported on October 15 that the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission issued the license on September 16. According to the Bee, buildout, hiring and city inspections were still ahead, and no opening date had been announced. The Bee suggests following the restaurant's social media or watching for signage at 930 Parker Square. That is still the most reliable way to catch the first night.

The mornings carry on

With so much happening at dinner, it helps to look at what hasn't changed. These daytime tenants are listed on the Parker Square directory right now:

  • Cerulean Blue Coffee House, Suite 420
  • Hive Bakery, Suite 360
  • Morning Edition Cafe, Suite 380
  • Boba Bar, Suite 330, the newest addition to the daytime side
  • Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop, Suite 650
  • Indigo Art & Framing, Suite 350, and Charmed by Ryann, Suite 630

The directory is a live page, so confirm hours with each business directly before you go.

When the Bee covered Boba Bar's opening, it noted the shop sits in "the same walkable stretch that already draws folks for dinner, errands, and weekend browsing," just off FM 3040 and easy to reach from the Lakeside corridor or Cross Timbers Road.

Saturday mornings at the gazebo

The other big daytime change this year is the Flower Mound Farmers Market on the gazebo lawn. Parker Square describes it as tents of produce, baked goods, honey, coffee and handmade goods, plus a row of Kidpreneur booths for young makers. The plaza says the market is free to attend, with free parking around the square, and runs rain or shine.

Published schedules have varied this year. The Cross Timbers Gazette announced a March 7 start. Community Impact listed it as opening March 14 on a monthly schedule. The plaza's own market page listed weekly Saturday hours, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for October, with October 31 as the last date posted as of late October. No November dates had been posted. Parker Square says weather calls go out on its Facebook page, so that is the place to check before heading over on a Saturday.

Looking toward December

Parker Square hasn't posted a holiday event for this season. The town's big December gathering is somewhere else this year. The Town of Flower Mound's Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting is set for Saturday, December 5, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Gerault Park.

Parker Square sums itself up on its own site as "Est. 2001 · Rooted in 1854." It traces its setting to early settlers on Flower Mound's blackland prairie and calls itself a square built for markets, car shows and community events.
